It isn’t all the time that those who are wrong admit they are wrong. So when they do, they usually get the forgiveness they ask for. This might be said to be the with South African actor David James.
Years ago, he was on the set of a movie with compatriot Brenda Ngxoli and used the kaffir word to describe her. That word is often considered a racial slur – very offensive to many people.
After keeping that encounter to herself for a while, Brenda Ngxoli eventually spilt it out in public, putting James in a tight spot of either denying or admitting her claims.
He choose to admit that he indeed used racial slut on her while on set and expressed this regret that that moment happened at all. He affirmed that he was sorry for his action.
Interestingly, the said racial slur was used against Brenda Ngxoli when she and James were shooting a flick centred on apartheid-era South Africa. For Brenda, it was like reliving the apartheid era once again.
Whether Brenda has finally forgiven James following his apology is unclear, as she is yet to speak about the same. All eyes are now on her to see her reaction to the apology.
