The coronavirus pandemic has paralyzed the live music industry. But with vaccines for the virus already circulating around the world, many artistes are beginning to nurse hopes of live shows returning.
French disc jockey and producer David Guetta, who has worked with the likes of Black Coffee and Snoop Dogg, recently admitted to receiving a dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
The “Drive” mastermind also expressed the hope that festivals – you might say live show – will return. He thinks it fair if vaccination should be a requirement for live shows. He encourage people to get vaccinated but readily admits it is within people’s rights to decide whether or not they want the vaccine.
Interestingly, in his native France, skepticism about coronavirus vaccines and vaccination is pretty high. Reuters reports, quoting opinion polls, that less than half of the population of France, one of the hardest hit by the pandemic, intends getting vaccinated.
Guetta thinks the coronavirus pandemic has been terrible for the music industry. With vaccines for the virus out, the songster expressed the hope the pandemic should end this and that 2022 would be a year of great partying, recovery.
If that should happen, he would, according to him, be “on tour, nonstop.”
