Country icon Dolly Parton has just hinted that Beyoncé has recorded a cover of her soaraway “Jolene” and that it might be a part of “Act II.”
Beyonce isn’t known to be a country musician, so what fans are seeing now is a bit of transition for the pop icon, with Dolly, one of country’s biggest names, giving the hint.
Beyonce’s musical charms are enough to see her fans make the transition with her into the world of country music. And with the support of one of the genre’s icons, one can only expect superlative success. But, of course, nothing is assured at this point.
Beyonce’s leap into the orbit of country music should not come as a surprise, especially as Dolly herself revealed that both the “Renaissance” singer and her mother were longtime fans.
In other words, in the years since discovering Dolly and following her music, Queen Bey has imbibed a lot from the country universe and not appears to be comfortable releasing something of her own in the same genre.
