Former Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi’ caused a stir on Sunday by not showing up for their pageant’s finale – something she had been a part of all along. While several of the past winners showed up, Zozi was a no-show, which led to an interesting debate online.
Why did she stay away from the occasion when she was actually part of the preparation for the event? It turned out that she did not only stay away from the show, she unfollowed the pageant on Instagram and removed them from her bio as well.
A big move that left many asking what exactly the issue was. According to sources, Zozibibi Tunzi’s wardrobe expenses were not covered by the pageant. She was, instead, left to cover the costs herself – something that had not gone down well with her.
Unwilling to cover the costs herself, she had simply stayed away from the showing, unfollowed them on social media, and remained in her own lane, provoking controversy.
At the time of writing, she had not publicly spoken about the reasons for her actions. Reacting to her action, though, the pageant owner noted that Tunzi was never part of the judging panel but was invited as a VIP guest
