Dutch aid groups have just raised an impressive 106 million euros in aid for beleaguered Ukraine.
Ukraine has been under fire since Russian tanks rolled into the East European country, and the casualties have been mounting on both sides.
This unprovoked aggression has led to sanctions on Russia from the European Union as well as its NATO allies.
With the rising catastrophe on the Ukrainian side, several charities had banded together, including UNICEF Netherlands and Red Cross, to raise funds to help victims of the war in Ukraine.
A website for the aid collective noted that 106.2 million was collected at the end of the national day of action. Reflecting on the situation in Ukraine, the collective described it as worrying.
This collective is but one of several raising aid to support embattled Ukraine. Across the world, thousands of others, individuals and organizations, are also rallying to support the Ukrainian people and prevent another humanitarian crisis.
Since the war erupted, thousands have poured into neighboring countries from Ukraine. Poland has been the major port of call for most people fleeing from the Ukrainian side.
By the way, the 106 million euro raised will be used for life-saving emergency aid, including shelter, food, medical care, and psychological help.
