Education Department Set To Investigate Clip Of Kelly Khumalo Hate Song

The department of education is set to launch a probe into a viral hate video targeting the singer Kelly Khumalo.

In the controversial video, pupils at a school could be seen singing a hate song referencing the “Dance Comigo” singer as the murderer of the late Bafana Bafana goalie Senzo Meyiwa.

The students, who are all under the age of ten, sang in Zulu,m the lyrics of which translates to something like this: “I hate Kelly Khumalo. She is a Johannesburg b**ch who murdered Senzo Meyiwa.”

While some social media users found the clip shocking, some thought it was amusing, and they shared it so much that it went viral on several platforms, further provoking more debates on the death of Senzo Meyiwa and the state’s inability to apprehend his killers. You can check out the clip below.

Senzo Meyiwa was killed in 2014 while visiting his then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo at her family home in Vosloorus. All attempts to resolve the murder case since then have remained abortive. The case is still in court, with five men standing trial for killing the footballer. They have so far pleaded not guilty.

It remains to be seen what the department will do over the viral clip.
