Award-winning actor and author Flo Masebe has temporarily joined the cast of “Skeem Saam” as a replacement for Harriet Manamela in the new season of the hit series.
Things are switching up in the forthcoming season of Skeem Saam. According to recent reports, the character Meikie Mapula, played by actress Harriet Manamela, will be taken over by the award-winning actor Florence Masebe for the rest of the new season. This is due to health challenges Manamela is said to be suffering.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the character of Meikie Maputla, played by Harriet Manamela, will be replaced until the end of season 12,” read a statement by the production company behind the hit series.
“The decision came about after Harriet Manamela needed to be placed on sick leave for an extended period of time. Manamela’s last scene for the season will air on the 5th of April 2024. From the 15th of May 2024 the character of Meikie Maputla will be played by Florence Masebe.”
Masebe is famous for her roles in the shows “Generations,” “Soul City,” “Muvhango,” and “The Republic.” Fans can catch her in the new season of “Skeem Saam,” which will air on SABC1 at 7.30 pm (formerly 6:30 pm) from March 4.
