When Melusi was in high school, he had a sweetheart called Thati, who’s now married to another man, Phumlani, soon to die in her hands.
Thati and Melusi would rekindle their love, and Gladys, Melusi’s wife, will not stand that nonsense but will seek a divorce. There are also indications that Phumlani never really loved Gladys but instead had feelings for Mazet. Well, that’s as far as the teasers go.
Created by Gwydion Beynon, Phathushedzo Makwarela and Kutlwano Ditsele, Gomora is one of South Africa’s most loved telenovelas. It tells the story of people in a township called Gomora.
The dialogue is primarily in Tswana and Zulu, with English occasionally thrown in. Also, there are English subtitles for those who do not understand the two primary languages of the celebrated series, which airs every Monday on the DStv network. It remains to be seen what the reception for the April instalment will be like.
