HHP’s Widow Lerato Sengadi Celebrates His Posthumous Birthday

Hip Hop Pantsula (HHP) might be dead, but he’s got a widow who continues to keep his memory alive each year. That’s Lerato Sengadi. On his birthday this year, she celebrated him again – as she had always done since his tragic death.

HHP was one of the key names in South African hip-hop at some point. In fact, Cassper Novest, one of the biggest rap names in South Africa at the moment, owed much of his rise to HHP, who pushed him and showed him the way around the industry.

But HHP suffered from depression in the latter part of his life – a consuming feeling that he had not accomplished anything and wasn’t where he was supposed to be. He attempted suicide several times and eventually succeded – with a bullet to the head.

It was a tragic end to a brilliant rap career. But he left a legacy, which those closest to him, including his wife Lerato Sengadi have been striving to keep alive.

In a post on his posthumous birthday, Lerato shared two pictures of them together, happy and having a good time. She wished him a happy posthumous birthday until they met again. You can check out her post below.
