Who would have thought that American rapper Jay-Z himself would complain about the Grammy Awards this year? Well, there is telly no end to the surprises in the world of entertainment, with American rapper Jay-Z providing us with our latest example.
As you well know, Jay-Z’s wife Beyoncé was nominated in the Album of the Year category alongside other deserving musicians. But she ended up not winning in that category, which seemingly puzzled and annoyed Mr Carter.
Reacting to her album of the year snub, he pointed out that he didn’t mean to embarrass his wife by dwelling on the subject, but that she has had more Grammy Awards than anyone else (including himself) but has been snubbed each time in the album of the year category.
It just doesn’t make sense to him that she’s yet to clinch that category despite a trove of wins so far.
Some of his fans shared his frustrations, and some stated that he should be content with what his wife has won so far and not put the Recording Academy under pressure.
The Recording Academy. Which awards the Grammy Awards, has often faced criticism over its choice of winners. On that count, Jay-Z’s outbursts shouldn’t be surprising.
