Lady Du Warns The Public As Her Bookings Phone Number Is “Hacked”

If you are a keen following of the entertainment space in South Africa, you are probably already aware that, compared to other countries, the claims of “hacking” are pretty prevalent among South African celebs.

Now and then, a celeb would claim her account has been hacked – or most recently, in the case of singer Lady Du. In a post on her official Instagram page, she shared that her booking phone number was hacked.

She also advised the general public to be aware of the said number and not to carry out any transactions with it. She left a new phone number by which she might be booked. There was also an email for those who might want to use that medium. See the post below.

Celebrities are not immune to scams online. In fact, there seems to be a prevalence of crime of people either impersonating celebrities via social media or generally trying to bilk the public in the name of a celebrity.

By the way, Lady Du also noted that the person who “hacked” her email and phone number has been identified and she will deal with him herself. How she does that is unclear, but we are certainly watching.
