Peeps die and are soon forgotten. But not all men who die are forgotten that easily– thanks in part to the impact they made when they were alive.
One such person who made a great impact was the rapper XXXTentacion. On the anniversary of his death this year, another notable rap figure, Lil Uzi Vert, had noted that XXXTentacion was the only competition he had.
That statement is especially symbolic because there are millions of musicians in the world and thousands of rappers. But Uzi believes none comes close to his league except the slain rapper.
XXXTentacion was born Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy in Florida in 1998. He rose pretty early in the rap game and died just as early, on 18 June 2018, in Deerfield Beach, Florida, United States.
Speaking on the eve of the fourth anniversary of XXXTentacion’s murder, Uzi had noted that the music scene was different around the time the rapper was murdered and that in a good way. He ended up by describing XXXTentacion as his only competition.
It may have been four years since XXXTentacion’s death, but his legacy is as fresh as can be and the music scene is still imbibing the rap offerings he left the world with.
