Minnie & Connie Chiume Cover The Plug Magazine: Mzansi Expresses Mixed Feelings

South African actresses Minnie Dlamini and Cionnie Chiune made the cover of The Plug magazine for their contributions to South African film and theatre, and they couldn’t be happier.

They both took to their Instagram pages to share the cover of the mag and air their thoughts as well. In her post on her verified page, Minnie Dlamini noted she was exited (sic) by her cover feature and spoke about her role as an actress and producer.

She also shouted out Connie Chiume, noting that her wisdom, shared with the magazine and available in the current issue, makes the mag worth reading.

Connie Chiume returned the courtesy, noting that Minnie Dlamini was a role model to the younger ones with acting dreams.

However, Some South Africans were unimpressed with the decision to have both of them on the same cover. As far as they are concerned, both are not on the same level, and Connie should have taken cover space alone. Some wondered how many films Minnie had acted in to enjoy a “legend” status. And as far as they are concerned, putting them on the same cover is nothing short of an insult to Connie.

Well, clearly, to each his own
