Xhosa is one of the key languages in South Africa and is also spoken in neighbouring countries. So, there are many people who speak the language out there.
In a clip currently making the rounds online, the American R&B singer Alicia Keys had joined the amapiano singer Khanyisa Jaceni for a rendition of the singer’s “I’m Ready.” It was a moment many South Africans were not expecting.
While amapiano might be the fad in South Africa at the moment, seeing the American going hard on isiXhosa is all shades of intriguing. This much was evident in the responses to the video so far.
