Mzansi Magic has debunked rumours that ‘Gqeberha: The Empire’ is ending after one season and has announced a second season.
Mzansi Magic is slamming rumours that their series “Gqeberha: The Empire” ends after one season. Zimoja reported that an actor on the series revealed that when the shooting started, they had to move to Port Elizabeth and were placed in “dumps” to live in.
The channel announced via their website that it had “no plans to cancel Gqeberha: The Empire.” The statement read, “The channel can confirm that Gqeberha: The Empire is scheduled to remain on-air for the foreseeable future. Plans are in progress for the next season; further detail will be communicated in due course.”
They promised to investigate the source of the rumors. “Mzansi Magic has just been made aware of the allegations of mistreatment of the cast, we take such allegations seriously, and we will be reaching out to the production house to verify the same.”
