Mzansi reacts to Idols SA judge Somizi’s return to the show.

Reactions to Somizi’s return to the Idols SA show have dominated social media. Fans have tagged him the star of the show and voiced how much they missed his energy. As always, in the recently aired episode, Somgaga dominated the screen.

Last year, M-Net announced in a statement that Somizi would be taking some time off the show as a result of abuse allegations leveled against him by his ex-husband Mohale Motaung. While many stated it was the right thing to do, others opined that the show would not be the same without him.

M-Net’s statement to Channel24 read, “M-Net and Somizi Mhlongo met to discuss his role on Idols in light of the allegations against him. We have reached a mutual agreement that Somizi Mhlongo will take some time off to deal with his personal circumstances until this matter has been resolved.”

Fellow judges Unathi Nkayi and Randall Abrahams were asked from the show and replaced with new judges, Thembi Seete and JR Bogopa. In the new episode, Somizi remained a delight sharing his incredible energy with the world. Viewers cannot stop talking about a dude he performed with and still gave a “no”.
