He got married days ago to an 18-year-old in Senegal and it made headline news across the world, with some people congratulating him on his marriage and some wondering why he should get married to a “minor.”
Well, after a brief silence, Sadio Mane has spoken out, but he did not address the critics of his union with Aisha Tamba. Rather, he thanked those who have congratulated him on his wedding so far.
Among those who have done so are the president of Senegal. He actually made a joke about the Al-Nassr star, which he took in good humour and thanked the president for as well.
Sadio Mane made it clear that he is a happy man in his marriage. And he would rather it remains that way.
He met Aisha when she was 16 through his agent who was a friend to Aisha’s father. They didn’t quite date because she was pretty young at the time. Now they have pushed things to a permanent site and are happy to be called husband and wife.
