Sho Madjozi Talks About How It Was Collaborating With AKA

South African artist, Sho Madjozi, recalled working with the late AKA and spilled all the tea.

Sho Madjozi recently discussed her collaboration with the late rapper AKA in an interview with Tbo Touch on Metro FM. She went into detail about the challenges and complexities that marked their working relationship.

The “John Cena” hit-maker didn’t hold back when discussing the challenges she faced while collaborating with AKA. To drive home her point, she made reference to “Casino,” a song they recorded together, and how they went back and forth on it till its release.

Sho recounted AKA telling her to come at the beat in a certain style unfamiliar to her, which she didn’t quite agree with. She said the misunderstanding led to her verse on the song not getting completed. Regardless, the song was still released.

However, the behind-the-scenes drama also took its little toll on the track’s final output, as fans had differing opinions on the two musicians’ 2020 collaboration, especially concerning Madjozi’s short, repeated verse. That notwithstanding, the single eventually spawned into a hit record.

While speaking, Sho Madjozi also highlighted that in her early days in the industry, AKA was the first artist who treated her with respect.
