Toya Delazy’s Speech At Grandfather Mangosuthu Buthelezi’s Funeral Warms Hearts

Popular Zulu leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi might be dead, but if he could watch the speech his granddaughter Toya Delazy gave at his funeral, he would most likely have been impressed.

The songstress was at the funeral like other members of the Buthelezi clan, and she had the opportunity to speak – like a couple of others. In her speech, she paid tribute to the late leader of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP).

Her speech resonated with many South Africans, most of whom poured into social media to reflect on what she said and to praise her as well. In no time, she started trending on Twitter (now X). You can check out the clip that captured the attention of South Africans below.

Toya Delazy’s speech at her late grandfather’s funeral will certainly not surprise those who knew her and the relationship she had with him when he was alive. She reportedly had a close relationship with him and his late wife Princess Irene.

Mangosuthu Buthelezi died on September 9. Since the news of his death hit the airwaves, South Africans have been honouring him the way they see fit. Most recently, a band of maskandi musicians defied the order not to visit his home. They trooped there, chanting songs in his honour.
