South African rapper and entrepreneur Cassper Nyovest was the latest guest of musician and blogger Slikour, and he detailed so much about his life during the sit-down.
Cassper, who combines rapping with business (he owns the Billiato alcohol brand and the Root of Fame sneakers brand), spoke at length on his business ventures and how far he had come.
He also touched on what’s probably the most talked-about boxing match in South Africa right now – his scheduled fight with Naakmusiq on April 9. The “Doc Shebeleza” is so confident about beating his opponent that he’d coined a phrase that plays on his rival’s adopted stage name to indicate how he’d best him this weekend -#NaakHimOut.
Cassper is one of the most famous rappers in South Africa and also one of the most criticised – expectedly. He doesn’t care too much about what his critics are saying it might say. He got goals that he’s focusing on, and that’s what counts for him.
He got somewhat emotional talking about Riky Rick, his pal, who committed suicide on February 23. Cass and the “Boss Zonke” rappers were pretty close, but they fell out along the way. Still, Cass has fond memories of their time together. Check out the clip below.
