A man who tried to deface the Mona Lisa by throwing a piece of cake at it was arrested at the Louvre museum in Paris.
The unnamed man had disguised as an elderly lady in a wheelchair and tried to commit the offence but was taken away from the scene by security guards.
While being led away, he was heard admonishing people to think of the earth. He claimed people are destroying the planet. He said he threw the cake on the famous painting so people would think about the planet. You can check out the video below.

The man was briefly detained and then taken away for psychiatric evaluation. In another clip, a museum worker could be seen cleaning the cake from the glass cover that protects it.
Maybe this is just nuts to me💀but an man dressed as an old lady jumps out of a wheel chair and attempted to smash the bullet proof glass of the Mona Lisa. Then proceeds to smear cake on the glass, and throws roses everywhere all before being tackled by security. 😂??? pic.twitter.com/OFXdx9eWcM

However, this isn’t the first time the Mona Lisa has been savaged. The painting had previously suffered an acid attack.
Also, the iconic painting was previously stolen from the museum, and someone attempted to sell it to an art dealer. The dealer had contacted the authorities, and the image was recovered.
It soon became a joke that the painting had become more famous through attempts to either steal or destroy it.
