Zakes Bantwini Returns With A New Event, Sikelela Festival

Grammy-winning Afro House DJ and producer Zakes Bantwini has returned to the scene with a new event, Sikelela Festival, ‘A celebration of South Africa’s rich heritage.’

Zakes Bantwini always thinks of ways to entertain Mzansi with good music and events. The star is back with another promising event, which he titled the Sikelela Festival. The festival was first announced last month.

The event is scheduled to take place on 27 April 2024 from 12:00 – 23:00 at the iconic Constitution Hill in Johannesburg. According to Urban Lifestyle, it was “established in 2024 to mark 30 years of our country’s freedom; Sikelela is a festival unlike any other. It aims to unite people through positive energy and inclusivity, providing a diverse platform for all ethnic groups to come together and celebrate.”

It is for both lovers of music and dance, and it promises to deliver an unforgettable experience. The inaugural event will host a lineup of famous performers, including Scorpion Kings, MiCasa, Kelvin Momo, Young Stunna, Karyendasoul, Sizwe Alakine, Supta, and, of course, the brains behind the festival, Zakes Bantwini himself.

Lovers of hip-hop, jazz, and traditional African music would undoubtedly find something that appeals to them at the event. Tickets for Sikelela are now available for purchase starting from R350.
