Just like we always say, It has been a great year for music releases. From albums, EPs, to singles, artists have really delivered good music to the airwaves. We have also seen the same release energy on the East African scene.

It has been hits back to back with projects from Rayvanny and more. Nandy, Diamond Platnumz, Koffi Olomide and more have been on the forefront of hits out of East Africa. Now, here’s a list of the top 10 Bongo Flava jams released in the first quarter of 2021. You should be jamming to them.

1. Nandy – Number One ft. Joeboy

It is crazy how much impact Tanzanian singer, Nandy makes with every release she unleashes. “Number One” was released as a first offering for 2021 and features Nigerian singer, Joeboy who recently dropped his debut project. The song is more of a conversation between two lovers. If we didn’t know them, we would think they were actually dating.

2. Lava Lava – Bado Sano ft. Diamond Platnumz

Lava Lava is always ready to deliver. Everytime he does, we know he’s going to claim the airwaves. We would all agree he did that with “Bado Sano” featuring Diamond Platnumz. We must say, they must have really wanted to blast their haters and critics. The fast paced jam was just perfect to do that. A true jam.

3. Rayvanny – Valentine

Everytime Rayvanny activates his loving side, we know a soulful hit would be unleashed. The talented Tanzanian singer might just be dubbed the king of Valentine’s Day. Last year, he dropped “Te Amo” featuring Mozambique’s Messias Maricoa. This year, he practically took over the airwaves with Valentine. We cannot deny that the song is just the perfect love tune to vibe to.

4. Baba Levo – Shusha ft. Diamond Platnumz

If you’re in the mood to call people out, critics maybe, then this is the perfect song to hear. Diamond Platnumz is one guy who has seen a lot of criticism on the scene. Joining Baba Levo, they called all their critics out in this song, and made a hit out of it. Did we mention that they also delivered an impressive video for the song. We’re yet to recover from this.

5. Alikiba – Infidèle

If anyone knows exactly how to make hits, it is Alikiba. The talented artist touched a lot of hearts with this massive hit. In the song, “Infidèle”, he sings about a man who discovers his girlfriend is cheating on him. We don’t see a lot of songs with this storyline, which makes it all the more interesting. You should hear it.

6. Darassa – Waiter

Darassa gives us good reason to break a sweat everytime. The talented hit maker has seen so much success lately. We loved his collab “I Like It” with Mzansi star, Sho Madjozi. He brings an even bigger vibe on this song titled “Waiter”. You can just forget your sorrows listening to it. It is off his debut album “Slave Becomes A King”.

7. Diamond Platnumz – Waah! Ft. Koffi Olomide

If you’re going to play Diamond Platnumz and Koffi Olomide’s hit jam “Waah!”, know it is going to possess you. It is one of those infectious jams that never really leaves you. We still can’t shake it off our systems. They both deliver impressive performances in the song.

8. Harmonize – All Night ft. Anjella

The most amazing thing about this song is that it is a massive success story for rising star, Anjella. The talented singer went from sharing home made videos of herself on social media to collaborating with one of East Africa’s biggest stars, Harmonize. They both have good music chemistry and it is obvious in the song titled “All Night”.

9. Nandy – Leo Leo ft. Koffi Olomide

Nandy is queen. We would all agree that virtually every lady wants to be her. The female star has seen a lot of success in her music. The talented songstress teamed up with yet another international star, Koffi Olomide for this offering titled “Leo Leo”. A true African Princess, Nandy made a hit out of this beautiful tune.

10. Zuchu – Sukari

Diamond Platnumz’s label, WCB Wasafi deserves all the applause for presenting the best artists to the scene. Zuchu has seen so much success with this jam tagged “Sukari”. She created the perfect love song with this offering, which continues to replay in our heads. Zuchu let her songwriting skills shine in the song, that sets her apart from the rest.
