A Snap From The Past Reveals Black Coffee’s Humble Beginnings

Most of those who are highly successful today didn’t start from the top. They had to fight their way to their current position of ease, fame and plenty. Examples abound all around us, irrespective of country.

Our current example, though, is the South African disc jockey and producer Black Coffee. An old event flier of his has just popped up online revealing that it was not all great and glorious at the beginning. The songster himself came from the bottom.

Right now, though, it’s a different story, as he is one of the most famous faces in South African music on the global stage.

In a post shared by the local blog MDN News, it could be seen, via a poorly designed flier more than a decade ago, that Black Coffee used to charge as low as R10 for entrance fees to his events/gigs. The flier caught the attention of many South Africans, who praised the enormous growth that has taken place since the flier was issued.

Today, Black Coffee has an international network that includes Drake and Jay-Z, and he is the most famous international disc jockey of South African provenance right now.

As one adoring fan said, “Trust the process.”
