Aaron Spears, Grammy-Nominated Drummer for Usher, Ariana & More Dies at 47

Grammy-nominated drummer Aaron Spears, known for his work with Famous artists including Usher, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne, and others, has died at 47.

The music industry is mourning the passing of drummer Aaron Spears. His death was confirmed by his wife, Jessica, in an Instagram post that read,

“Aaron was not only an incredibly accomplished drummer admired by many for his unparalleled talent and passion from music, but he was also a devoted father to our precious son, August. His love, guidance, and warmth were the pillars of our family, and his absence leaves a void that words cannot describe.”

“We were blessed to have him in our lives, and his legacy will live on through the beautiful rhymes he created and the love he shared with us.” She signed the statement alongside their son, August.

In 2004, Spears was nominated for a Grammy for his work on Usher’s record-breaking album “Confessions.” He is also known for his touring and production credits with top artists, including Lil Wayne, Ariana Grande, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, Mary Mary, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, and more.

DJ, Drummer, and Producer, Questlove shared a tribute that read, “You’ve seen Aaron drum prolly 5-10 times in your life if you attend concerts & sometimes without knowing. That’s how much in demand his services were.”

Various artists have also written tributes to him across social media.
