This is a very difficult period in the life of South African musician DJ Vettys who recently survived a shooting. According to reports, he was heading to a gig when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him, injuring him. But he survived.
He is being hospitalised at a secret location, where he is said to be in a critical condition. His condition has been a source of worry to many of his fans, some of whom have taken to social media to wish him a quick recovery.
Details of the shooting incident are still sketchy. However, it is claimed that he was targeted and it somehow boils down to his relationship with the late DJ Sumbody (real name Oupa John Sefoka), who was himself assassinated a while back.
In DJ Sumbody’s case, his killers have yet to be found and the public has seemingly moved on from the incident, having lost faith in the ability of the police to find the musician’s killers.
For DJ Vettys, it is happy survival. Things could have been worse. But he survived, although still in a critical condition at this point. Hopefully, he will make a full recovery and get back to doing what he knows best
