Ahead Of April Price Increase: DStv Subscribers Lose Access To More Channels

DStv subscribers are currently feeling the pinch as some of them have lost access to some channels ahead of the company increasing its price increase slated for April.

MultiChoice recently left some subscribers upset and some groaning after it announced there would be price adjustments beginning in April this year.

As part of this initiative, some channels have been dropped from DStv since the beginning of the year. According to the company, it is constantly evaluating its services and making adjustments accordingly.

A simple breakdown shows that the DStv Access fee will increase by 4.3% from R115 to R120 monthly. But there will be no increases for the Add More movie package.

The DStv Compact Plus and DStv Access packages stand out in that they are both seeing increases way higher than South Africa’s inflation rate of 6 per cent.

This isn’t the first time DStv has announced a major increase in its rates. it’s happened previously and will certainly happen again in the future, depending on the prevailing economic climate. But how are South Africans taking the “heat”?

Many are understandably upset. But from the look of things, they are impotent to do anything right now. Time will tell what follows after the major changes of April.
