Moses Tembe, the father of Anele “Nelli” Tembe, who used to be AKA’s fiance until her mysterious death in 2021, has spoken out for the first time following the death of AKA.
The “Fela in Versace” rapper was shot dead on February 10 last year just outside Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban. He was in the company of some of his associates at the time, including his former manager Tibz, who was also killed with him.
It was like a scene out of a movie, a stranger walking briskly toward the rapper, pointing his gun at him and pulling the trigger. AKA collapsed there and then, never again to share the embrace of his girlfriend Nadia Nakai and family.
Given the circumstances of Anele Tembe’s death and the fact that the circumstances of her death remained unclear, many suspected that her father Moses Tembe was responsible for AKA’s death.
During an intefiew appearance with SABC, however, Tembe dismissed the claims that he was behind the hit. According to him, he loved the songster so much and all he wanted was for AKA to be in the box, either as a witness or the accused, so that he can have closure about his daughter’s death.
Mzansi has been denating his words since then.
