Basetsana Kumalo Reacts To Jackie Phamotse’s Sentencing

Media mogul Basetsana Kumalo has reacted to Jackie Phamotse’s sentencing and said that the dignity of her family has been restored.

According to the latest reports, the Jackie Phamotse and Kumalos court saga has finally come to an end. The sentencing of Phamotse was handed down by the Magistrate Saras Naidoo in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court.

She was reportedly sentenced to two years of correctional supervision and fined R12,000 for count three or four months imprisonment and on count four R18,000 or six months imprisonment.

The couple, Basetsana and her husband Romeo, are said to have arrived at court separately. However, they sat together, and later, Romeo left the court after the sentencing was handed down. Speaking to the media alone, Basetsana shared her joy on the sentencing and said that her family’s dignity has finally been restored. She said,

“This unprecedented judgment is a victory not only for my family but for every South African that works hard to earn an honest living.”

She also opened up about cyberbullying in South Africa.

“This is also for every South African child that has been cyberbullied, now South Africans have a recourse that they can come to the courts and seek justice should they be cyber bullied.”
