Thabo Bester and Dr. Nandipha Magudumana have become two of the most talked about people in SA after their escape plan was foiled last year. According to reports, Bester had been hiding in a double-storey villa in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, with a market value of R12-million after he broke out of prison.
Reports state that the house was rented by his girlfriend Dr. Nandipha Magudumana who told the owners of the property that her husband was in prison overseas. It was reported in April 2023 that the house was back on the market, listed by 4Tune Property Smiths as “a beautiful four-bedroom home going for R70,000 monthly rental”.
According to a report by ZiMoja in 2023, unconfirmed reports say that the property was leased under one of Thabo Bester’s aliases – Katlego Tom “TK” Motsepe. The mansion, located in the same leafy suburbs as President Cyril Ramaphosa’s, has had a few renovations since Nandipha and Bester left. It is said to be in excellent condition, with a pool, tennis court, and multiple other amenities.
The house was revealed in the Showmax documentary, “Tracking Thabo Bester.”
