DJ Sbu to Sue Blogger Who Fingered Him in the Stealing of Zahara’s Awards

It’s not been a great start to the week for South African singer Zahara, as six of her South African Music Awards (SAMAS) were stolen from her secure estate in Roodepoort, Gauteng.

According to the “Loliwe” singer, she left her apartment on the weekend of Easter and returned on the 21st. That was when she discovered the theft, according to her. It was surprising because the door was locked, and everything else was in place, untouched.

The blogger Musa Khawula had insinuated in a tweet that DJ Sbu’s thugs had stolen the awards from Zahara’s crib. Angered by that claim, the MoFaya boss had bid the blogger get ready for an R1 million suit. You can check out their exchange below.

On the theft, Zahara is deeply saddened. According to her, the awards meant much more to her than money. She noted that she wants her awards back, even if the thief should decide to leave them at her gate.

Although she’s active on Instagram, she hasn’t said anything yet on that platform.

Investigations into the theft have commenced.

Lesley Mofokengs, a spokesperson for the SAMAs, noted that the award body was saddened by the incident and also expressed the hope the perpetrators are brought to justice.
