It is one drama after the other for American rapper Kanye West, who recently complained that Adidas has sued him and was producing “fake” Yeezys. it turned out that the songster himself has been sued for allegedly stealing Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love” song.
Donna Summers is long dead and cannot possibly have anything to say about the allegedly stealing. But her estate is alive and well. The same estate is suing the “Donda” rapper for “stealing” part of her music for his recently released album.
It seemed Ye reached out to her estate to use a sample from her music but was turned down. He went ahead to use what he wanted anyway, forcing her estate to sue him and accuse him pf “blatant theft.”
The latest railing from the estate of the late Donna Summer might not come as a surprise, as something similar already happened, with Ye asking for permission to use a “Black Sabbath” sample from Ozzy Osbourne.
Ozzy Osbourne turned the request down because Ye was an antisemite, But he claimed that the rapper went ahead to use the sample anyway.
Well, it will be interesting to see what comes out of the suit from Donna Summer’s estate.
