AKA might be dead but his memory is still very much alive and will continue to live after him. This much should be evident at this point, as new things about him emerge almost on a daily basis, watering his name in the consciousness of his compatriots and even foreigners.
Just recently, an old video of him bonding with his daughter in the studio surfaced online and it drove many South Africans to tears . Most were moved by the bonds they shared and regretted the fact that he was no longer on the earthly plane to continue such a warm relationship with his daughter.
The video was shared by none other than AKA’s mother Lynn Fobes, as you can see below.
Aka was shot dead on the streets on February 10 this year. He had just stepped out of Wiash Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban when an assassin came close and shot him at point-blank range to the head. He collapsed to the ground instantly – never again to share the embrace of his daughter and family.
He was gearing up to release his “Mass Country” album at the time of his assassination. The project had to be released soon after his death.
