Popular “Gomora” actor Sicelo Buthelezi has joined the cast of “Skeem Saam.”
“Skeem Saam” has welcomed several new faces to the show. Former Gomora actor Sicelo Buthelezi has been announced as the latest cast member of the SABC1 soapie.
The channel shared the news on Monday, 11 March. They revealed he would be starring as Tobias (Toby) Maswahla, a troublesome young man on the show. The statement read,
“We say hello to actor Sicelo Buthelezi as he joins the cast of Skeem Saam. He is set to play the role of ‘Tobias (Toby) Maswahla.’ Toby is a university student with a mischievous streak who gets expelled and is forced to move to Turfloop after causing some serious trouble back in Joburg. He turns over a new leaf, starts attending Turfloop University, and even gets a part-time job.”
Sicelo gained prominence for playing Teddy in the hit show “Gomora” before it was canned. It was his debut gig on the acting scene, and he quickly became a known face on TV.
Sicelo has reacted to joining “Skeem Saam” and said he’s looking forward to it.
“Having joined the Skeem Saam family has been amazing. It’s a different environment, but it still feels like home. I’m enjoying it,” he said. He is set to debut on 2 April.
