Janet Jackson and John Kani Criticised For Using Madiba Prison Image For Lockdown Meme

Janet Jackson and John Kani got blasted on Twitter for using a Nelson Mandela meme in their tweet.

The award winning singer, Janet Jackson has joined other celebrities in advocating for the stay home principle. Most countries have employed the self-isolation and social distancing mode due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

The singer tweeted using a meme of the former South African president, Nelson Mandela’s picture, while he was in jail as a representation of being in isolation (which she later deleted).

This didn’t go down well with Tweeps as they came for the singer saying it was not expected of her, while some defended her.

In the same instance South African Legendary actor Dr John Kani also posted the same meme which got twitter users all pissed and they came hard on the actor, saying it was wrong of him to use the meme and was spreading fake news by saying Mandiba spent 27 years in jail.
