Are we in the diss era all over again? Some people would say yes, seeing as American rapper Kendrick Lamar brayed for blood in a track referencing rivals J. Cole and Drake.
In “LIke That,” one of the tracks in his recently released album, the songster took a swipe at his rivals J. Cole and Drake. The diss track is said to be a response to the duo’s diss directed at him last year, “People Shooter,” which was part of the Canadian’s “For All the Dogs” album.
Kendrick Lamar’s “Like That” tune had the hip-hop universe buzzing. The buzz transcended the United States, as fans of the rapper and those he addressed in the song also started discussing it.
Along the line, fans wanted to know how Drake would respond. Some urged him to respond, but the Canadian appeared uninterested in doing that at the moment.
At least during a chat with DJ Akademiks, he simply waxed philosophical, pushing aside the prospect of responding at the time.
Well, with Kendrick Lamar having fired his shot, all eyes are now on Drake and J. Cole to see if they will resume hostilities with a response diss track of their own. Time will tell.
