Lira’s First Birthday Bash After Stroke Scar (Video)

She was in Germany when she suffered a stroke that altered the course of her life forever. But South African singer Lira is still alive to tell the tale – alive to celebrate another birthday and show gratitude for her survival.

For the first time since she suffered a stroke, on March 19, the singer threw a party to celebrate her birthday. It was another opportunity to reflect on her life and what a close shave she had back then.

For context, while she suffered a stroke and survived, some other South African musicians have suffered a stroke as well, after her case, and did not make it. A key example is Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo.

Anyway, back to her birthday bash. The songstress celebrated her birthday and shared about the same on her official Instagram page, noting it was an intimate experience with her family and friends, whom she surprised with a mini-concert.

In other words, they came expecting a birthday party but ended up being treated to a mini concert of sorts, with the singer performing. You can check out the post below.

The birthday bash comes as welcome news for a lady who almost lost her voice to a stroke. To more birthdays, Lira!
