Lynn Forbes Remembers Late Son, AKA On His Death Anniversary

One year after his passing, Lynn Forbes remembers the late AKA with a touching throwback video.

It’s February 10, a sad day in South Africa. Exactly a year ago today, SA Hip Hop star AKA and his best friend Tibz were shot dead while leaving a restaurant in Durban. Fans have since mourned his death, and the SA Hip Hop scene has not been the same since.

AKA’s mom, Lynn Forbes, remembered the late rapper with a touching throwback video. She captioned the video, “Never Leave.” Fans flooded the comments with messages and prayers from fans who sent her love to help her feel better.

Three weeks ago, Lynn Forbes shared a photo of her granddaughter Kairo Forbes resuming Grade 3 and wrote about AKA’s childhood and how she knew he was watching over them. She wrote,

“I know you were there when I took her to school for her first day of grade 3. You stayed with her all day until I picked her up. You were there with me doing the same on day two, and you sat with me through the parent information session last night. It broke my heart when they spoke about the dad and daughter robotics days coming up this year.”
