MaMkhize Blows Hot Over Her Team’s Treatment In The Congo

Football boss Shauwn Mkhize has given some clues about her team’s time in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), noting the reception was hostile.

The Royal AM boss led her team to the Congo, where they faced TP Mazembe. She was, however, unimpressed with the treatment the team got from the rival side.

Recalling what went down on the pitch, the businesswoman, who is also known as Mamkhize, noted that people were sprinkling things on their players, and there were also people who looked like bushmen that made it into the pitch and were strangling their players. “It was like a movie.”

She was surprised because the president of TP Mazembe, Moïse Katumbi, who she said looked like a decent businessman, was on the ground but allowed things to happen.

Miffed by the whole incident, she had called on the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to penalize the Congolese team for allowing such to happen to the South African side.

However, some tweeps were mordant talking about the incident. According to them, the CAF was not for “sissies” – whatever that means.

Another source of annoyance for Mamkhize was her team losing the match – their first CAF appearance in the Congo.
