In this era of artificial intelligence (AI), almost anything is possible. But is the clip of American rapper Eminem denouncing the ruling African National Congress (ANC) and calling on South Africans to vote the opposition Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) anything from the realm of AI?
Well, that is what South Africans are currently debating. Eminem is all about the bars and someone who has never involved himself in the politics of African countries.
So the clip of him putting out a good word for the controversial red collective understandably left many South Africans incredulous and some laughing at the video itself, pointing out that it cannot possibly be real.
This is especially so as the EFF is often seen as a divisive party, especially following the declaration by the party’s presidential hopeful, Julius Malema. to “kill the Boer” – translated as a call to massacre the whites in South Africa.
Well, even as we write some South Africans are having a good laugh, some pointing out that they almost believed that Eminem was the one speaking in the clip, which you can check out below.
He isn’t. But the clip has shown how powerful AI is and how it can be used for almost anything, and by anyone, including hostile actors.
