Everyone knows that Rulani Mokwena, coach of the first-ever AFL champions, Mamelodi Sundowns is the star of the season. The famous coach put in so much work to be where he is today, and Mzansi knows it. A clip of Mokwena motivating his team before their final game against Wydad has gone viral.
In the video, he is seen telling them that winning the league was written in the stars, and they shouted joyfully in reply. While some have accused him of copying Pep Guardiola, others praised his dedication to motivating his team.
The Sundowns also posted a video of the coach sending a message to the fans. He stated that all of “this” would not be possible without them. He also showed love to the guys on his team and reminded them they had made history by becoming intercontinental champions. He also said it was only the beginning.
Mokwena had previously sung the praises of Themba Zwane, saying, “For a player of his magnitude and stature, the leader profile he has, to humbly accept to play in different position and do different things he would normally not do shows the amount of humility, but also shows you the character.”
