Celebrities might not compare themselves to others, but then they can’t stop others from making the comparison. We see that almost all the time, in different climes and circumstances.
The latest is right here in South Africa, with Saffas debating who between the singer Tyla and the entrepreneur Bonang is the bigger fish.
Of course, Tyla is a recent manifestation on the scene and has only just grabbed global attention with her Grammy win, but her fans are of the view that she is the bigger of the two.
The point to her winning what they consider the biggest music award (the Grammy, with her song “Water”) is evidence that she is currently way bigger than Bonang.
This take especially miffed fans of the House of BNG boss, who pointed out that Tyla is no closer to their idols in sinews despite Tyla’s Grammy win. They even considered it an insult that Tyla should be placed on the same pedestal as Bonang.
