A wave of excitement consumed Mzansi songstress Nomcebo Zikode when she found out that PSG star Neymar sang her global hit “Jerusalema” word for word. Now that’s pretty impressive. The clip was shared on TikTok, and she grabbed it from there.
In a post on her Instagram page, she shared the clip of the Brazilian professional footballer singing the song and thanked him and his club (Paris Saint-Germain). You can check out the clip below.
This clip makes Neymar the second high-profile footballer to endorse the song. The first person to do so is the Portuguese footballer Christiano Ronaldo. He’s sung the number alongside his family, magically pumping interest in the number.
Since then, the interest in the song has skyrocketed and currently has over 500 million YouTube viewers – a record for a piece by a South African.
At the time of writing, though, Master KG had not acknowledged Neymar rocking the number in a YouTube video.
“Jerusalema” is a collaborative work between Nomcebo and Master KG. the success of the song has also caused cracks in their relationship over the sharing of royalties. Although the two have released other songs since, they have not been able to match the success of “Jerusalema.”
