Oscar Pistorius Will Sweep Floors and Park Cars at Local Church as Part of His Parole

Oscar Pistorius will reportedly sweep floors and park cars at a local church as part of his parole.

Former paralympian Oscar Pistorius is finally out of jail on parole. According to Daily Mail, the famous athlete may have to sweep floors at the local church and park cars for the congregation to appease his parole officers.

The publication further reports that the famous athlete, who already served time for the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, was given a choice on how to “serve out the remainder of his punishment during the remainder of his 13-year sentence.”

He was asked how he would want to carry out his community service. The options available were helping to clean a local hospital, auxiliary duties at a police station, or a return to prison to help warders with maintenance. According to a source for the publication, Pistorius has chosen to help at the NG Kerk Dutch Reformed Church.

The church is a mile from where he lives with his uncle Arnold. Pistorius will do this for the next five years, as his parole will end in 2029. Netizens were not impressed by the news because they didn’t think it was a good punishment.

@Permanentlypis1 wrote, “He was ‘freed for murdering Reeva Steenkamp,’ was he? I’m pretty sure he was convicted for murdering Reeva Steenkamp and given an extremely light sentence for doing so because he’s a rich, entitled man. I see his PR machine is busy, and you are complicit in it.”
