It appears like the troubles aren’t over yet for the Malawian Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG).
A recent report by City Press alleged that a property company had taken him to court over a breached lease agreement.
PPS Property Trust Fund, which reportedly owns the property that the runaway prophet used as the headquarters of his church in Pretoria, South Africa, is claiming almost R1 million in unpaid lease.
The report indicated that the Prophet had entered into a lease agreement with the company on August 7, 2018, which expired in June of the following year. The contract was reportedly extended to June 2022. However, Bushiri had reportedly defaulted in payment, forcing the company to head to court.
Interestingly, Prophet Bushiri shared the cover of the City Press report on his verified Instagram page, insisting in the caption that he never entered into any agreement with the company.
According to the Malawian Prophet who fled South Africa for his native country, he never entered into any agreement with PPS Property Trust Fund. The reports being circulated were nothing but an attempt to smear his good name and make money from it.
It remains to be seen where the legal battle will lead to.
