Proud Malaika Gushes Over Mother Thandiswa Mazwai Ahead Of Tiny Desk Performance

Most kids usually get “bragging rights” from having accomplished parents, and sometimes they go out of their way to show how proud of their parents they are. Examples abound.

South African singer Thandiswa Mazwai’s daughter Malaika stands as our latest example. While she doesn’t post about her mother all the time. She felt so much pride about her imminent NPR Tiny Deck Concert that she tweeted about it.

Taking to her X account, she identified Thandiswa Mazwai as her mother (probably for the benefit of those who might not know), pointing out that she’s always thought of her as pretty cool. Now she is affirming out loud that her mum is pretty cool.

That’s not all. She went on to state that she is proud of Thandiswa Mazwai. Well, who wouldn’t be? Thandiswa is already an accomplished musician and is respected for her art. She recently performed in New York. See Malaika’s post below.

By the way, that New York performance elicited praise from Ntsiki Mazwai, Thandiswa’s younger sister and Malaika’s aunt.

Thandiswa Mazwai should be pleased knowing that not only does she have the support of the public, but she also has the support and love of her immediate family, which counts for more.
