Rap icon Jam Master Jay’s Solved After Two Decades

American Rap icon Jam Master Jay’s murder has been solved after two long decades, with the suspects involved found guilty on all counts.

The murder of Jam Master Jay, a member of the legendary hip-hop trio Run-DMC, has finally been solved after 22 long years. According to reports, a jury has found two men guilty of the rap icon’s murder.

The men, Ronald Washington and Karl Jordan Jr., were convicted Tuesday. They face a minimum of 20 years in prison and a maximum life sentence for Jam Master Jay’s murder in 2002.

Speaking about it, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York stated that Jam was born Jason Mizell. He said,

“More than two decades after they killed Jason Mizell in his recording studio, Jordan and Washington have finally been held accountable for their cold-blooded crime driven by greed and revenge.”

“That the victim, professionally known as Jam Master Jay, was a hip hop icon and Run-DMC’s music was born in Hollis, Queens, in this very district, and beloved by so many, adds to the tragedy of a life senselessly cut short.”

Jam Master Jay was best known as the DJ for Run-DMC, alongside rappers Joseph “Run” Simmons and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels.
