Rapper Mystikal Arrested, Faces Charges Of First-Degree Rape, False Imprisonment

These are not the best of times for rapper Mystikal, with charges of first-degree rape and false imprisonment hanging on his head.

The New Orleans rapper is facing his third rape charge. He was reportedly arrested over the weekend by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO). A nearby hospital had filed a report of sexual assault by a survivor at the health facility, and the authorities had responded promptly.

The alleged sexual assault victim, unnamed at the time of writing, reportedly suffered minor injuries during the attack. Investigators had swung into action immediately, and the rapper was identified as the suspect.

Following his identification, Mystikal now faces charges of simple criminal damage to property, false imprisonment, simple robbery, first-degree rape and strangulation, among others.

His lawyer, Roy Maughan, confirmed the case while also noting that a bail hearing for the accused is imminent, and he’s expected to be released within the week while investigations continue.

With his latest battle with the law, Mystikal has further appended his name to the infamous list of musicians who have had charges of rape thrown at them. It’s unclear what the outcome of the case will be. Stay tuned for updates if you please.
