Rashid Kay and Zingah are arguing over who started Skhanda Rap between K.O and M.T.
SA Hip Hop has always been about impact and representation. K.O is well known for his impact with Skhanda Rap, but there are claims that he didn’t begin it. M.T. accused the “SETE” star of stealing his Skhanda Rap star and Emtee of stealing his name.
Zingah laughed off the claims and alleged that K.O was probably not listening to him. In response, Rashid Kay revealed that MT was the one who first promoted Skhanda rap in 2010 before K.O. established CashTime.
He tweeted, “MT was a legend on Siz n Scoop and was already pushing Skhanda Rap around 2010. CashTime was formed through the “Full Clip” with the help of @SizweDhlomo The name Emtee is arguable cos it comes from “Mthembeni.”
He also appeared on Zingah’s podcast and said K.O stole the style. “MT from Thembisa 1632 had a mixtape called Skhanda Music, whether you listened to the mixtape or not, he started Skhanda.”
