Mzansi singer Samthing Soweto has celebrated his South Africa Music Awards (SAMA) win with a song titled “Isphithiphithi.”
The songster was nominated in the Best Afro Pop Album category in this year’s SAMA, and went home with the prize. “Isphithiphithi” is the title of the album and also the title of the song celebrating his win.
According to the songster, who admitted years back that music saved him from a life of crime – having been convicted for robbery over a year ago – “Isphithiphithi” might be taken for “buzzing.” For one who might call himself a son of thee streets (Johannesburg), Samthing Soweto magically captures the thrills and dangers of the city in his song.
